It's not that we are short on them, its that -s was used in a bunch of
tools (gentest, locktest, smbtorture etc) to set a seed, and was used
in other places to choose a config file. If we are going to unify the
command line processing then one of them has to change. Something has
to change, the question is what.

I certainly used -s a lot in the test tools, and I hadn't noticed it
being used for config files. Now that you've told me it is actively
used for config files I would propose we use --seed for the test
tools, and leave -s for the config file.
