Hello!

Pocket PC 2003 is the MS Windows for PDAs. Have you ever tried to access a
samba-drive with such a device? While it is possible to access "real"
Windows servers and shares from other Windows-clients with Pocket PC 2003,
it is not possible to connect to a samba-server... The error message is as
follows:

When the PDA is turned on and accesses the LAN, it registers its name (in
this case NAVI-SYS):

[2004/08/08 11:27:16, 3]
nmbd/nmbd_incomingrequests.c:process_name_registration_request(220)
process_name_registration_request: Name registration for name NAVI-SYS<00>
IP 10.10.10.14 on subnet
10.10.10.10

When you try to connect to a share on LINUXSERVER (sambaserver), it looks
like this (taken from log.10.10.10.14):
[2004/08/08 11:27:46, 3] smbd/oplock.c:init_oplocks(1226)

Note the name "CERDR..." - the device's name is NAVI-SYS?!

And if you look in log._cerdr575e2a62:

The errormessage on the device itself is "Cannot find the file '\\' (or one
of its components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and all
required libraries are available.".

Any hints on how to avoid this? Are there plans for samba supporting MS
PDA-OS? If I can help with any more information, please request it... :)

regards,
Florian
