[PATCH] LFS ./configure test SEGV on Opteron

FYI: It doesn't seem like we're doing the wrong thing...  This may be a 
bug in some other component (we'll investigate further).  At any rate, 
this problem was reported by another user and this patch does work around 
the problem at least :-)

We're writing directly to the pointer for release name returned by
uname() in the LFS conftest.  This is definitely a bad thing and causes
a SEGV during configure on the Linux on the Opteron.
