viewing jobs in printer queues broken in 3.0.0?

I am not using cups. The platform we want it for is Solaris, using
standard sysv print commands, though I can probably check tomorrow if cups
works on the linux box. It may be that viewing print jobs is "completely
broken" only for sysv printing!
