As far as I can tell winbindd doesn't even register the wbinfo --sequence
requests that don't work @ debug level 10. I ran this command:
sh-2.04# (winbindd -i -d10 > outfile.2 &) && while [ $? ]; do date; wbinfo
--sequence; usleep 200000; pidof winbindd; done

Which produces this output:
