We have been working on attempting to back port event handling code to
Samba3. This is almost required to support DCE/RPC over TCP (which is a
must to support an AD aware domain controller). However, things get even
more complicated because of the asyncronious nature of the event handling
code in Samba4 (verses the syncronious RPC pipe code of Samba3).

At the end of the day, if we just attempt to backport I have a feeling
we're going to get something very ugly. In terms of features for
Samba3.1, I'd definitely say RPC over TCP should be one and I will
volunteer to own that. We of course need to make the decision though on
how that's going to be supported.

Do we focus on Samba4, do we attempt to backport the Samba4 event handling
and RPC code to Samba3 or do we just hack up Samba3 to make RPC over TCP
possible?
