Building Samba on Windows

Hello.

I hope I am not breaking any rules with this message. Please let me know 
if I am.

I am trying to get Samba 2.2 to build on Windows XP using Visual Studio. I 
am doing this because I want to interface to a special purpose file system 
on the backend (which I can't do with MS's SMB server unless I write the 
file system as an XP installable file system which is not reasonable for 
our particular file system).

Do you know if anyone has done this that I may be able to contact for 
help?
