Samba 2.2.8a
HP-UX 11 (HPPA 2.0/64bit).

Bunch-o-things:

I see the following in the logs:

[2003/05/14 12:44:15, 1] smbd/service.c:(636)
s010n166 (0.0.0.100) connect to service eric as user eric (uid=143860,
gid=500
3) (pid 24358)
[2003/05/14 12:48:50, 1] smbd/service.c:(675)
s010n166 (0.0.0.100) closed connection to service eric

Looks like the IP is not recorded properly.

Then there are wonderful things like this:

[2003/05/13 16:31:38, 0] lib/util_sec.c:(111)
Failed to set gid privileges to (-1,-2) now set to (0,0) uid=(0,0)
[2003/05/13 16:31:38, 0] lib/util.c:(1094)
  PANIC: failed to set gid

I think this has to do with the fact that HP-UX's 'nobody', but that is
odd since the GID and UID for 'nobody' are -2 and -2 respectively.

Then there's an nmbd issue - it could not, for the life of it, determine
the network interface to which to bind without an explicit declaration
thereof in a config file, as well as a 'bind interfaces only' being set
to True. At what can I look/what debug level would be appropriate for
troubleshooting this, et cetera?

Solutions, pointers where to RTFM, et cetera, would be greatly
appreciated.
