Thanks metze.  However, my inclination is to let this code die unless
someone wants to support it and test it.  I would rather it not compile
if it has not been tested.  Unless smoeone steps forwards and volunteers,
I'm going to remove it from the next beta release.  It hasn't been touched 
in a long time.
