Unable to compile 3.0beta1 on AIX 4.3.3 ml 11

I get the following error when compiling (gcc 2.95) 3.0.0 beta1 under AIX
4.3.3 maintenance level 11:

        --with-codepagedir=/etc/samba/codepages\
        --with-quotas\
        --with-vfs\
        --with-acl-support\
        --with-sendfile-support

Can anyone provide clues or assistance?
