behavior differences between samba and Windows server when renaming a folder

Hi all,

I've noticed a behavior difference between samba (2.2.8a) and a Win2K
server when renaming a folder.

if I open \\mywindowsserver\myshare\folder\a.txt and then try to rename
"folder" to "newfoldername" - I would fail (access denied)
Samba will allow me renaming "folder" to a different name, while I can
see the file locked in the locking.tdb.
