Seeking info on some problems with iconv from FreeBSD's ports collection-based iconv

Hi,

In trying to get Samba 3.0.0 working with the FreeBSD-based iconv package 
(not GNU libiconv) I find that init_doschar_table is objecting to three 
characters from UCS-2LE: 0xFEFF, 0xFFFF and one other.

Has anyone seen these problems?
