The offset is 8 bytes (on my system) when you compiled samba. I guess you did 
not compile your testcase with -D_LARGEFILE64_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 
to make sure it is 8 bytes on compile time.
Please try this and report back.
