winbind dual mode still broken

hello,

apparently the dual mode in winbind is still broken (even with the fix
from jeremy). it would be nice if this would work again before alpha24 is
released. 

in todays 3.0 cvs i get on startup with winbindd -B

[2003/04/18 11:24:44, 2] tdb/tdbutil.c:tdb_log(585)
  tdb(unnamed): tdb_open_ex: /var/lib/samba/winbindd_idmap.tdb (770,0) is
already open in this process

afterwards the second process remains as a zombie...

the fix from ken cross (posted to this list) will start the two processes
correctly but it seems that the second (the caching) daemon never receives
any requests (strace -f).
