hi again,
and sorry, ken cross asked the same question some weeks ago already and
provided a patch. will this be fixed and furthermore, could a dual winbind
solve my following problem :
i have a filserver with winbind (currently 2.2.8) in a domain setup with
three domain trusts (all in all approx. 20.000 user (!) ). in fact there
are just a small number of concurrent users on the server (~600). now
winbind blocks smbd whenever a getgrent-call is initiated (i cannot switch
off "winbind enum groups" for now). the file-server becomes unusable for
about 2 minutes while winbind is busy with enumerating several thousand
accounts via a wan-link. this is bad.
so, if we would switch to 3_0 / HEAD, could the first daemon do the
enumeration in a non-blocking manner while the second daemon serves the
clients ?
thanks,
guenther
