Users able to execute windows .exe though execute bit not set

Just to add fuel to the fire... for me as well, Execute has no bearing on
execution of files via Samba. It does have the normal UNIX meaning on
directories though.

Doesn't happen for me.  It lets me execute a file for which I only have
read access...
