I know we originally talked about tdbsam being the default for 3.0, but it 
wasn't on that list posted after the CIFS conference (and no one really 
made a big deal out of it).  If we did decide to do this, I agree with 
andrew that there is a lot of work to be done--stablizing, testing, 
migration, etc...  That is an extremely critical part of code that most 
people don't care about for a simple file server.
