Hi Alfred,

a good idea with questions like that is *always* to state version
numbers of the software packages involved. (Now, I can see that
you are using Samba-2.2.6pre2, from the verbose output of your
cupsaddsmb command)

What is the Linux version you're running?
What is the CUPS verions you're running?


Are you seeing the printer ljp5si with

   "rpcclient  localhost -N -U'root%XXXXXX' -c 'enumprinters'"

?

If no, are you seeing it after a re-start of smbd?
If you see it then, is the repeated "cupsaddsmb" succeeding then?
