XP SP1 and TEMP profile

the problem may be the same as mine...

your profiles share should look like this

[profiles]
        path = /home/xp_profiles
        read only = No
        create mask = 0600
        directory mask = 0700
        csc policy = disable
        share modes = No

if the pdc is not also the server of the profiles share then you'll need
to modify the clients using gpedit.msc to ignore the SID on those
files... search the archives for sp1 and roaming profile
