The only reason we have this code at all is becouse it *is* simple. 
Current problems with how to specify it in smb.conf aside, the relevent
code is not long, nor complex.  We would need almost as many lines of
code if we were to kill it, becouse we need to verify these things
anyway.  (That a sensible 'domain' or 'domain sid' has been passed).
