Samba 2.2.4 Bug

I'm on FreeBSD 4.5-stable and have tested this on a few other freebsd 
machines.  It appears that when the files in the locking directory 
are created, like connections.tdb and what not, locking.tdb is not 
created and therefore smbstatus fails.  I can get locking.tdb from an 
old 2.2.3 installation and it works fine then, so it appears that its 
just a problem creating locking.tdb.  Does anyone have any ideas?
