smbpasswd password changing

I think I misread your orginal problem.  Hmm, I think thats a live one!

The code paths in smbpasswd were recently reworked, so that may well be
your problem.

I might get a chance to look at it - but it might be better if sombody
working on 2.2 can chase this up.
