hi there,

i recently installed windows xp on my system and i wanted to make it part of my samba domain.
i used the same method to make it a member of the domain in windows xp as one would use in windows 2000.
but as soon as it became part of the domain and it asked me to add a user, it came with the error : thrust relationship between the primary domain controller has failed.
i didn't get this error message when i was still using windows 2000
I couldn't get on from this point.

i dont know if there is anything wrong with my samba server, but i downloaded and installed the latest stable version of samba (i also tried samba 3 alfa version).
I could not find the problem on my samba server so i decided to look for the reason on the windows side. and i found a solution for the problem

its a registry entry in windows xp that has to be altered:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netlogon\Parameters]
"requiresignorseal"=dword:00000001

this value should be : "requiresignorseal"=dword:00000000

if this setting is changed, it works fine.

the real question is, can we expext a newer version of samba in wich this is made compatible on the samba server side ?
thanx for your time, regards,
Frank Uittenbosch, Holland.
