Hello

I dont use winamp. The way I reproduce the same effect is as follows in
win2k sp2 using windows media player and a mpg file.

First ensure windows explorer is set with enable web content in folders.
eg Tools --> Folder Options.. --> Enable web content in folders

Navigate to the samba share.

right click on the mpg.

you have to see a small prieview screen appear in the frame of the folder to
receive the error. If you only get text describing the file you will be
allowed to rename.

then try and rename

Error Renaming file Share violation

ps i dont know if this is a bug or not I dont have access to a another win2k
to check, but i did read from the original postee that he has now checked it
on another win2k machine and that let him rename the file.

I have been testing this under w2k sp2 and cannot reproduce the
problem renaming with winamp.

I need to know exactly how you're reproducing this before I can
fix it.

Jeremy.
