Were the corrupted files ever viewed in Windows Explorer using the "thumbnails" feature? I've seen similar problems when transferring files that Windows has cached thumbnails for.

Subject: Samba 2.2.3: Problem with corrupted JPEG-files!
Importance: High
Hallo samba-support,
when copying JPEG files (size about 1.3MB each) from a Windows XP client to
the SuSE 8.0 server running Samba 2.2.3 on reiserfs, I get corrupted data and strange directroy
entries for about 10% of these files in form of invalid filenames and nearly
empty files, deleting is only possible when logged in as root directly on
the console. The rest i. e. about 90% are transferred correctly.
Any ideas, any patches?
Hope to hear from you a.s.a.p.
Kind regards!
