Since the utf8-mac patch was too deep into HEAD for my liking, I chose not
to use it in samba2.2.3a.
But someone of the great community helped me out. So just for the record.

Subject: Another utf8-mac patch for samba-2.2.3a
Dear DJ.
I have seen your message posted to Samba-Tech ML.
I wrote "another" utf8-mac patch for samba-2.2.3a.
This patch "2.2.3a-utf8mac.patch" replace normalized UTF-8
character with standard UTF-8 it. Its replacing rule is based on
Apple TechNote #1150.
http://developer.apple.com/technotes/tn/tn1150table.html
I have tested it with Japanese Windows, it works fine.
But I found a few Japanese character doesn't show yet, this is
Samba's bug, so I wrote addtional patch "2.2.3a-utf8mac-ja.patch".
This patch is only useful for Japanese user, but I hope that you
also apply this to the next samba X package.
Applying patch:
tar xfz samba-2.2.3a.tar.gz
cd samba-2.2.3a
gunzip -c ../2.2.3a-utf8mac.patch.gz | patch -p1
gunzip -c ../2.2.3a-utf8mac-ja.patch.gz | patch -p1
cd source
./configure .....
Now, I want to create Japanese localized SSP in myself.
Could you tell me your samba configure command option ?
Thanks.
