Winbind and Unix Users

I have Unix and Windows users with the same user name (e.g. cporter). but 
when I use winbind it wants to make the windows accounts to dom+cporter 
instead of using the already existing unix accounts. I really want to use 
winbind to allow access for trusted domains not my own domain.
