Hmm, VFS still works not out-of-the box for me. I just applied my
samba-2.2.2-vfs.dif, recompiled Samba and the example audit as well my
own modules works now.
(the re-diffed Patch for 2.2.3 can be found at
cvsweb.openantivirus.org/samba-vscan/samba-2.2.3-vfs.dif). This dif has
been included to
samba-vscan 0.2.1
