The first attached patch fixes the problem you mention.

The second patch addresses the fact that the installation is not able to
deal with a custom --with-privatedir option to configure.  This patch is
not related to the problem you mention.  This problem does not exist in
HEAD.

These patches are against samba-2.2.5.  Since they are small, I see
little likelihood that they will conflict with anything in SAMBA_2_2,
and as such I did not see the need to check out the latest SAMBA_2_2
CVS.  If someone that with commit access disagrees, let me know.  I will
create the patches against the SAMBA_2_2 CVS branch (and possibly head
for the first one).
