joining machine to domain with ldapsam backend

I'm assuming that talk about samba3 belongs here,
please let me know if i should take it to samba@

I'm trying to join a machine to 
today's head

here is the what I get in the log file - 
how should we assign an RID to a machine account?

do I need to add a special script in the add machine script parameter to
make this work?
