.lnk file question ...help!

Hello,
My name is Holly, and I have a friend who is trying to share pictures that have the extention .lnk and I havent a clue how to open them. I have dreamweaver & several windows programs, and my os is windows ME. Would you be able to tell me how I can go about viewing the files?
