Bill,

I cannot reproduce the using

 * Word 200 SP1 running on a Win2k SP2 client
 * latest SAMBA_2_2 cvs code running on a Linux 2.4.12 system

I've also looked through the log files you sent me and
don't see a failure. Maybe send me a raw tcpdump file?

Hmm....looking a little further...

$ bin/smbstatus -L

Samba version 2.2.2

Locked files:
Pid    DenyMode   R/W        Oplock           Name
--------------------------------------------------
23233  DENY_NONE  RDWR       LEVEL_II         /home/pogo/jerry/test.doc

Ah....ok. I can recreate the bug when setting "level2 oplocks = no".
Interesting....

Try enabling "level2 oplocks" and see if the problem persists.
Although I do agree that this is a bug. Just not sure where
the blame lies at the moment.

cheers, jerry
