Look in the Samba 2.2.2 distribution, in docs/Registry/WinXP_SignOrSeal.reg.
Sometimes you can just double-click on a .reg file and it will make
the change, but I tried it on this one and it complained about improper
format. So the method to use is to select Start->Run, type in regedit,
and navigate through the

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\netlogon\parameters

and double-click on RequiresSignOrSeal and set it to zero (was one),
then exit the registry editor.

Something that's happened in my network is that a Windows XP system
with RequiresSignOrSeal left at 1 was working fine with a Samba 2.2.2 PDC,
and later stopped working, complaining during logon that it couldn't find
a PDC. I made the RequiresSignOrSeal registry change, and it now works
again. As far as I know, there were no changes made on the XP client that
caused the change in behavior, however, there were a number of changes of
the configuration of the Samba server and many restarts of smbd/nmbd.
Interesting, eh?
