Also, there's the oddity that AIX uses some permission bit to tell
whether to cache a shared library or not. Libtool still doesn't make
use of those bits, but eventually it will, so as to prevent AIX from
caching shared libraries in the build tree, and installing them so
that they can be cached. So, even if cp -p preserved permissions,
this still wouldn't be right.
Of course, if you know what to do, you can copy libtool libraries, but
it's probably easier to just tell libtool to install them inside the
package tree.
