Any reports on this problem?

I have a bug report from a third party. Has anyone seen this:

When Samba 2.0.7 is in the 'security=server' mode, writes from a
Windows/98 client system will slow down dramatically (as compared to
'security=user'). This problem occurs when working from the Windows
desktop (eg. Windows Explorer), but *not* from a command-line.

One symptom is that the SMBwrite messages from the desktop are only
1K..4K in size, while similar transfers from a command line (eg., using
COPY) are in the 6K..61K size range.

I'm curious to know if anyone has seen this or has any clues to why it
is
happening.
