Hi Stephen,
This message generally means that some other process on 10.20 has already
bound
to port 139. Check to see if you have lmu or lmx or AS/U running on you
box;
ps -ef |grep -e lmx -e lmloop
These applications bind to 139, and you will need to stop them.
OR - perhaps you have a hung smbd process; check for that with
ps -ef|grep smb
Hope this helps,
Don

Subject: bind failed on port 139 socket_addr=0.0.0.0 (Address already in

I am getting this error message when trying to start the smbd daemon. The
nmbd daemon starts up fine but I can not get smbd to start.
I am trying to run samba on HP-UX 10.20. I am sure that I am missing an
option somewhere. If someone could help.
Thanks,
Stephen Kuhn
