I got some bogons too, and found I was running the
test disk out of space and the internal table off it's
end.
The disk out-of-space stuff is fixed in a pair oif
patchhes at http://samba.org/cgi-bin/samba-patches
You may want 117 and **part** of 181. 181 has
code for latency, too, but it's Solaris-specific
(darn!).

The symptoms I saw were **very** erratic performace after
the first out-of-space error or the first overflow,
accompanied with tons of error messages.
