I have to say that this seems very non-intuitive. Where else is
this syntax ever used, much less familiar to admin (not developers)?
The quoted strings format is widely accepted and not very difficult.
Interfaces, even administrative ones like config files, should
consider the user, not just what would make the most efficient code.
If you confuse the user, you depreciate the product's value to him.
