should smbc_stat provide a UNIX mode or a DOS mode

Hi,

Currently, smbc_stat takes great care to convert the DOS mode provided by
the SMB protocol into a UNIX mode. That is, the Hidden attribute goes to
S_IXOTH, Archive goes to S_IXUSR, and so on.

The question is, do we really want this conversion done, or is it more
likely that users of the library will want DOS mode info?

In addition, with the coming of ACLs, I imagine that callers of the library
will want to be able to get at the various permissions or access lists on a
file.

Can anyone suggest the form that this should take?

Regards
