Samba 2.2.2 dies without error messages

check /etc/inetd.conf and look for smbd and nmbd entries, and make sure the
paths are ok.

If you change anything you'll need to restart inetd.

If inetd.conf has a valid entry for nmbd but an invalid entry for smbd it
will cause this exact problem.
