Can Samba co-operate?

Hi,

Is Samba capable of sharing port 137/138 with some other non-samba
NetBIOS client? If so, how is it done?

I'm interested in:
* enabling named pipes over the network in Wine.
* getting NetDDE to work in Wine
* using windows shares in Wine without smbmounting them

Wine should support windows programs that are clients and/or servers,
so i need access and listen to port 137/138 in some way. It would be
nice if that way not mutually exclusive with using samba.

Is there anyway Samba feature can help me to get this going? A unix
domain socket that i can talk to perhaps? An arbitrator of some kind?

Wine's license is X11, so i if i wrote a patch linking to libsmbclient
or any other GPLed libraries, it wouldn't be accepted. (Wine may
become LGPLed soon, but that won't help matters much, unless
libsmbclient is LGPL'ed...)

thanks,

Mike
