large file support > 2 gig

Can someone tell me what configuration I need to transfer large files (>2G)
to and from my linux box using Win2k?

This seems particularly strange as my linux box sees large files on win2k
shares (using mount.smbdfs).

PS: I am using Mandrake 8 - samba-2.2.0-20010417.i686.rpm - Win2k

PS: I did not succeed in installing 2.2.1a. I stops during linking at:
passdb/pass_check.o(.text+0x11f): undefined reference to `crypt'
