what is call_nt_transact_set_security_desc ?

hi 
I am using samba 2.0.7

there is one function called call_nt_transact_set_security_desc in smbd/nttrans.c file

I could not get what is he doing actaully? is he setting SD's are Unix permissions? how can we set Security Desc? if so where is he storing these ACLs ?

why is he unpacking NT permisions in unpack_nt_permissions()?
