os: Red Hat Linux 6.1
kernel: 2.2.16-22 (rh70)
glibc-2.1.2-11 + egcs-1.1.2-24

Actually, I don't use automount, however, linking of smbd fails when
samba is configured --with-automount:
...
...
Compiling lib/substitute.c
lib/substitute.c: In function `automount_path':
lib/substitute.c:108: warning: initialization makes pointer from integer
without a cast
lib/substitute.c: In function `automount_server':
lib/substitute.c:143: warning: initialization makes pointer from integer
without a cast
Compiling lib/fsusage.c
...
...
Linking bin/smbd
lib/substitute.o: In function `automount_path':
lib/substitute.o(.text+0x16e): undefined reference to `automount_lookup'
lib/substitute.o: In function `automount_server':
lib/substitute.o(.text+0x23f): undefined reference to `automount_lookup'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [bin/smbd] Error 1
Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.16363 (%build)
