configure fails on debian 2.2 intel

Hi, folks

this is a problem with the samba-2.2alpha1 and the CVS download:

While running a 

./configure --with-smbwrapper --with-pam

configure fails with a 

checking configure summary
configure: error: summary failure. Aborting config

Is this mistake on my side or is there a bug?

I've got a Debian Potato (2.2) system (i386) running a 2.2.17 kernel.
