I see the answers come back from samba (both 2.0.7 and HEAD)
and smbclient (under linux) is able to reach samba shares longer than 12
chars that NT is not able to resolve.

I think NT used LANMAN2, but I'm not sure, I've tested at home and does
not have the traces here.
I'm going to install a second vmware NT here (256Mb RAM helps a lot :)
and will try to have a complete trace!

Are you interested in the logs and traces I get?
