Yes.  smbd should be insulated from the allocation and 
generation of user and group rid's .  For backend that support
the extra fields (read as TDB and LDAP), the user rid 
will be stored with the user account information.  For 
smbpasswd backends, the rid will still be generated from 
the uid/gid using the current algorithms.
