swat is not working for root but works fine for normal users...

  I installed Samba-2.0.7 on our Digital Unix OSF5 with SWAT
strange thing is that swat is working for normal users (with proper
privilege)
but not for root, anyone can help me with this problem? Thanks in
advanced!
