samba and inetd problems

I just tested my NT firewalls again at grc.com, and they are cloaked.
However, I am using ZoneAlarm, and it is set up for Low security on the
Local side and High on the internet. As I understand it, the low setting
allows file/printing shares. I have configured my Stratus server IP and my
VPN as part of the local net. I just checked the violation log, and other
than an entry for the grc test I just tried, there are no port 139 incidents
reported in the last week.

As soon as I get a better understanding of browsing, I will be able to
either make it work, or ask more intelligent questions.

Regards,
Ron

I wasn't trying to suggest that the firewalls were "wrong" - it's
perfectly reasonable for them to prevent outsiders trying to access
Windows file sharing on the protected machine! (I'd be complaining if the
firewall did NOT do this, I suspect.)

If you get a VPN tunnel set up so packets between your machine and the
Stratus do not pass through the firewall (except in the "tunnel") you
should find it all works.
