NameNumericTail

I asked this on samba at samba.org but I haven't got any replies, so I
try here. I hope that that is ok.

Does samba have an equivalent setting as the WINDOZE NameNumericTail
setting? For those who don't know about this registry setting, 
<http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/v2faq/faq22_19.html> can be
enlightening.

If not are there any plans to implement it? 

If not would such an implementation be welcome?
